Storm aftermath
Today’s storm (more intense than yesterday’s, and quite a
bit longer) blew through as abruptly as it had arrived, and behind it
remained a low wedge of bright red sunlight, a thick wake of inky
cloudmass, and the hint of a rainbow. I snapped some astonishing
pictures, but none of them expresses the gamut of color visible; nor did
I manage to capture any of the restless cloud-to-cloud lightning that
persisted for the next half-hour, as if someone were pressing firmly on
the tightly closed eyelids of the sky.
