Quake (Quake ported to the Inform interactive fiction engine) -
Google to launch Gmail,
free email with massive storage & searching (it’s a nasty dig at Yahoo!,
frankly, including such ToS clauses as “When you are logged into your
Gmail account, Google will display targeted ads and other relevant
information based on the content of the email displayed.” and “ Google
may send you information related to your Gmail account or other Google
services. Because we believe such information is important, you will not
be given the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.” - MetaFilter turns into a
Wiki - FreshMeat.net: “Today, we’re
having a test run with pages translated into the ancient and noble
language of the Rotlanders. Then, starting next Thursday, the entire
site will be translated into Afrikaans. This will be followed by a week
each of Latvian, Swedish, Croatian, and Latin. At the end of the year,
you’ll be able to vote on whether we should return to English or your
favorite of the 52.”
