Richard Binder reviews the Hero 100

February 7th, 2004

Richard Binder, expert
fountain pen nib grinder and all-around vintage pen know-it-all, writes
a review
of the Hero 100
fountain pen. He finds it in every way a modern
match for the classic Parker
“51″
, which is an astonishing feat for any pen, especially one of
modern manufacture. According to the article, the Hero pen factory
occupies an old (pre-PRC) Parker pen factory, so the 100 series and the “51″
are related by blood as well as by looks. “The Hero 100 is the modern
pen I had been waiting to fall in love with. I’d almost say it’s a
vintage ‘51′ in modern dress.”
