Regarding my quest for self-describing
words
(shall we give a “researchy” name to this phenomenon?
“cognitive onomatopœia,” perhaps? or
“autoeponymy?“), I just got an email from
Amar: “I was just telling
someone about that. specifically, the paradox that would arise if you created
a word that means ‘non-self-describing,’ and then ask: does this
word describe itself
?”

<CatHerder> Isn’t that roughly equivalent to taping buttered toast to a cat’s back?

<dsandler> Oh, I remember that one —
the cat will always land on Bertrand Russell.
