Apple’s “Sherlock” search tool a quantum leap over previous
incarnations of the classic “Find File” feature of the Mac OS
on account of its direct-to-Internet information gathering
inspired the creation of Watson, which took the concept
to the next level. Apple praised Watson, bestowing
upon it an innovation award and proclaiming it a great “companion”
to its own Sherlock. Then, they silently ripped it all
off for the new Sherlock 3
(part of the forthcoming “Jaguar” release of MacOS X).
