Erin made a good observation this morning. I’ll paraphrase. “If what
the media is telling us which is that women are, by and large, thin
and if you happen not to be thin, that you’re abnormal and should be
ashamed to be in public must be a lie. Consider the evidence: At
clothing stores, which sizes are always gone first? Large. 8, 10, 12. All
you ever see are sizes zero through six, extra small.”
Either the media is fooling Banana Republic, too, and they’re only
manufacturing sizes 0-6, or much more likely women tend to come
in larger sizes, and they’re glad to be seen in public (wearing nice clothes,
no less).
