infected machines off, and off the network, until they can be scrubbed.
So she’s sitting around her office, with absolutely nothing to
do, waiting for the IT guys to come around to each of their machines

I suspect that fixing this will prove to be way
beyond the abilities of a huge proportion of home users of Windows.
Anyone who says that “Linux isn’t ready for your Grandma” or whatever,
should be forced to do community service for a week fixing this crap.
