My new folding technique is inscrutable.
Erin hates the way I fold shirts, which is derived in part from an Internet meme from a year or so ago. Now someone’s gone and written about it, in English no less, consulting experts high and low about the merits of the technique.
“I turned to MIT’s Erik Demaine, who creates algorithms for problems of folding and unfolding. Erik explained that the Japanese method has the unique advantage of using gravity to force the creases out. He vowed to use the technique for all his own laundry, deeming it, quite unscientifically, ‘magic.'”
