Dispatch from I-5

about 25 miles north of Bakersfield, CA on I-5
It’s amazing how much the valley looks like east Texas. The green
hills are gone, replaced by flat expanses of farmland and scrub
foliage. Oh, and there’s a pretty big fire just west of the highway.
We finally had to close the sunroof and put on the AC. Very dry, very
warm.
