Usually I’m a big fan of Engadget,
offering a little more focus than its forebear device-and-doo-dad weblog Gizmodo. But this story about
palmOne’s new Mac
resource center makes baby Jebus cry: (copied verbatim)
Awhile back we had heard PalmSource, the developer of the Palm operating
system, wouldn’t be supporting the Mac OS in the their version (Cobalt).
But that doesn’t mean PalmOne, who makes device, won’t (it’s confusing
we know).
“The their version”? “Makes device”? Was this post written by CATS? Look,
I’m not saying that the PalmSource/palmOne split isn’t a little tricky for
innocent bystanders to wrap their brains around, but you’re not making it any
easier here.
Update 23:53: Engadget cleaned up a little bit of their language.
But “the their version” is still there, and there’s now a nice
little jab at the end: “Take that, PalmSource!” Look, PalmSource
is a small company, and they have to use their limited resources wisely. I
know, it sucks for us Mac users. But there are third parties picking up some of the
slack, and licensees of the Palm OS
helping out too. This is a feature of the Palm Economy everyone’s always
talking about. Man, why you gots ta hate on PalmSource?
