Our hack, however, (part of a project for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.rice.edu\/~dwallach\/courses\/comp527_f2005\/\">comp527<\/a> isn&#8217;t about breaking existing machines, but developing new ones that can be purchased from with a cell phone.  The trick is to do it in a way that doesn&#8217;t require the vending machine to be connected to the Internet or POTS or anything.
