So, I’ve gotten a couple of complaints about the automatic cross-posting from my del.icio.us links. So, I’ve turned it off. You’ll just need to remember to visit over there once in a while (or subscribe to the feed) to see what I’m busy reading (or planning @toread) instead of posting here.

You probably noticed the Links for 2006-09-18 post this morning; it’s a dump of the previous day’s links in my delicious bookmarks. Let’s try this for a few days; it might be useful or it might just clutter up the place.

Silicon Valley Damashii, or, the Yahoo! endgame
≡ 8:02 pm ≡ delicious flickr google photo sketchbook tags yahoo
So it appears (though it is still a rumor) that Yahoo! is all set to acquire Digg.
Why is Yahoo! buying up all these niche websites?
Apparently all lightweight, useful web applications are destined to be eaten by Yahoo!. (See also: Flickr.) The Yahoo! Search Blog has another take on the acquisition of del.icio.us.
Google has snuck del.icio.us-like features into their My Search History feature:
Google has silently added a Bookmarks feature to My Search History, enabling you to quickly tag and comment any web page you’ve visited.
Today, del.icio.us turns two years old. Thanks to everyone who tolerated our burps along the way.
Congratulations, Josh! (That icon is the best.)
Be honest: Is dsandler.org usable? Just this once, comments are open.
