You probably saw this on erinmak already, but if not, the ultrasound image below (complete with, uh, a helpful label for the disoriented) should help explain the blog silence.

Fig. 1.   5cm of forthcoming awesomeness.

This has been a part of our Big Plans since pretty much the very beginning—almost exactly ten years ago—and while it’s taken us a little longer than we’d hoped to get here, in the end I think we’re just that much more thankful and excited.

Baby-o is due in July, so everyone please wish for a cool Houston summer.

  6. dsandler says:

    Thanks, everyone.

@riddle—that would be…creepy? Would it show babies, or something else?

@liscio—I fear you’ve used too many exclamation points for me to completely believe you. :)

  7. Ingrid says:

Congratulations! May I suggest you get some of those ear muffs like lumberjacks wear? (90% joke; 10% total seriousness)

  8. angi says:

congratulations dan! how exciting for you and erin! (hopefully, i’ve used exclamation points conservatively enough for you to believe me :)

  9. amar says:

congratulations! chris & tirza just had a baby as well. god it’s frightening to watch events occur in succession as we hit different points on the timeline. i imagine liska & i will be parents within two years ….. though the thought still terrifies, gotta jump in sometime

  10. dsandler says:

@amar I suspect that if A = people entirely unafraid of the prospect of parenthood and B = parents, then AB = ∅. (That’s not to say that BA = ∅, either.)

  11. jason says:

    Congratulations to you both!

  12. Jeremy Templeton says:

Sorry Dan, I think the baby looks like Erin.

  13. Anita says:

Congratulations! It’s quite the life-changer. High stakes and high rewards, right?

  14. bdawg says:

Hey, congratulations! And by a funny coincidence, I too look forward to a sleepless July, with bdawg2.
