Backrub.
June 7th, 2006
dsandler.org is having a backrub while I migrate from WordPress 1.5 to 2.0.3 (finally!).
Update, 8:43pm: Almost there. The tags are still broken, but everything else should be OK.
Update, 9:59pm: Phoo. Done. I had to dig into my (deeply hacked) version of WP-Tags (actually now a variant on WP-Shadows); lots of incompatibilities with the way 2.0 loads plugins, handles rewrites, etc. Very fragile. The sooner WP gets built-in tagging the better, I say.

Dan – I’ve been working on moving my blog from 1.5.2 to 2.0.3, too. And, because I use categories differently and they suck for tagging, I used WP-Tags (which I found on your site).
Anyhow, long story short: I’ve managed to get them working in 2.0.3. It involves a different plugin (which seems to be based on WP-Tags anyhow), a quick hack of the plugin (which I can email you), a quick database migration, and a new template tag, but it’s all doable in about 10-15 minutes and it works fine. And /tag/foo urls work again.
Interested? Drop me an email and I’ll give you details. I’m going to publish them on my blog, too, once I’ve finished the redevelopment, but thought you might be interested before that…
God, I really hate having to fiddle with Wordpress…
