We’re having a white Christmas Eve here in Houston. It’s been an excuse to play around with Flickr, which I’ve been procrastinating mightily. Hopefully the accumulation (about a half-inch, maybe more) will still be there in the morning.

LOTR coming to Houston.

Just in case you don’t know the Lord of the Rings Exhibit will be here this summer at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. The exhibit will open on June 5th and run through August 28th. It was created in exclusive partnership with New Line Cinema and will feature costumes, jewelry, armor and weapons, models, and information on the digital effect and makeup used in the film. Coffee swirls.

The Rice Coffeehouse recently announced that they are planning a renovation, and have posted several concepts drawn up by Vaughn and Clarkson Architects. Of course, I can never leave well enough alone, and so when I read that the Coffeehouse was looking for additional input, I doodled some ideas of my own on the whiteboard in our office, and fired off an email.

Of course, I never heard anything back from the Coffeehouse, so I might as well share it with all of you. [Update 1/21/05: The Coffeehouse has moved ahead with a new concept.]
