Geometry makes me happy. Especially when it applies to the human form, music, and
book design all at once.
I am currently a software engineer at Google, where as a member of the Android platform team I build frameworks and user interfaces.
The blog here at dsandler.org is mostly historical; you can find more recent posts on Google+.

“Both U.S. and Russian experts have estimated that the Mars project
costs around a trillion dollars. How can they launch this with so
little money?” Gorbunov said.Alexandrov didn’t explain how his firm would raise the funds, but said
one of the reasons he thought such a mission would be profitable was it
could involve a “reality” television show.
I saw these mechanical &
industrial drawings sometime last year, but forgot to mention them (and
consequently forgot all about them). Out of blog, out of mind, I guess.
Fortunately, muxway’s got my back.
I’m with Anya: Bunnies are evil. There’s a dark brown
long-eared rabbit that’s been roaming our neighborhood all week; it’s
clearly an Easter present that got away—this creature is clearly
not a wild animal. We caught it last weekend and handed it off
to our next-door neighbors, who agreed to leash
the bunny and find its owner, but it’s since been spotted twice in
our yard. What’s most distressing is that we’ve just planted a bunch
of beautiful new flowers to help give our house a little more “curb
appeal”, and it appears that they’re turning into “lunch appeal” for
this lagomorphic freeloader instead.
I ran it off with a hose today (Animal Control isn’t open on Sundays).
