Cringely’s got a ramble on ‘offshoring’ that starts with a full head of steam about age discrimination, then lets it all go and wallows in a bland thesis about helping customers better (or not), before landing on sort of an interesting note at the end: “To improve profitability they are looking for cheaper bodies. They can’t envision a business model where they can do more with fewer bodies.” … “What manager at any big company would trade 100 workers for one, no matter how smart the one? No manager would do that, and yet they should.”
