A postmortem of this year’s Super Bowl ads, full
of misery.
Last night I thought there was just something wrong with my local
routing tables, or maybe my ISP’s segment. Slow connections, many (but
not all) DNS queries failed.
The problem was more widespread as it turns out. [disassembly]
And jwz has written a new screed on the state of
video playback in Linux. The best part may be the first entry in
the Random Commentary section at the bottom, on the topic of
UI themes in software; this comment (and associated jwz reply) is both
superlatively astute and offensive enough that you’ll have to go
read it for yourself I don’t even want to quote it here.
Also, I must remember the phrase “festival of overkill”.
