It quivers with energy that it can barely contain, just waiting for even 100 yards of free asphalt.

Blair talks about his BMW M3.

Extremely misleading wording of this AP story: AOL to buy out AT&T for $9 billion. What AOL is really doing is buying back AT&T’s share in the Time Warner Entertainment partnership, which is already owned 72% by AOL/TW.
(Hmm. I’m quickly approaching 1,000 diary entries. I wonder if my hastily-slapped-together shell-script diary code can handle that?)
The new vim book is available online.

Another Cocoa tidbit, and the Cocoa weblog where I found it.

Hmm, dsandler.org just went down.

Hmm. San Jose’s Santana Row construction project, set to open next month, is instead burning to the ground at this moment.

Well, our email server’s down again, so perhaps I’ll take this time to comment on the move.

The only unanticipated issues seem to be IT-related: email screwage, people disappearing from the NT domain, remote users completely locked out. All the physical stuff #151; boxes, the moving of computers, etc. — seems to have been OK.

My lava lamp seems to have leaked in the heat of my car’s trunk; the purple liquid seeped a little, and has a pungent bathroom-cleaner smell. Consequently, that’s what my office smells like at the moment; I’ll have to see what I can do about that.

I don’t have a drawer-for-random-stuff in my office. I have two large filing drawers, and that’s it. I’ll need to figure out some place to store my pens, scissors, push pins, etc.

Oh, and I found my Texas license plates in my trunk. Naturally, they’re now on my wall.

Wow, what a week-end.

Erin’s sister arrived in town on Thursday. We had a great weekend exploring the peninsula, seeing movies, hanging out, playing Street Fighter 2 (”Aww, Eustace!”), and vacationing in Napa. (All three of us seem to have gotten some moderate food poisoning, though, so how fabulous must the rest of the weekend have been to relegate this significant detail to a mere footnote?)

Oh, and I start work at the new office on Monday. It looks like our new corporate brand & identity has gone live as well.

Got some pictures from the move out; I’ll show ‘em to you once we move in. But here’s a taste.
Well, so that’s it. Three boxes, a desk lamp, a lava lamp, and four computers later, I’m all packed up and out of the building on Great America Parkway. I won’t see it again; we’ll all show up to the new place on Monday morning.

Tales of the hapless Ph.D. candidate, whose advisor just sent him this email:

I would like to discuss with you […] I think what we did up to now is fine except that… [your work] cannot provide any usefull information.
According to PalmInfocenter, we are moving to Sunnydale. Presumably, our new corporate charter will involve killing vampires. (Yes, I added this stupid anonymous comment to the story.)
Whoa. I ran into Adam in the bank parking lot by my apartment. I had no idea that his new job was so close!

Argh, bash.org is addictive. (Quotes stolen from chat conversations. Some are pretty offensive, but some are k-funny.)

Whoooaahhhhh.

It’s also worth noting that today’s P-A news contains a paragraph on Be, Danger, and Ficus Kirkpatrick (of Buy Now, uh, “fame”).
Apparently Erin and Gabe (aka Mike Krahulik) from Penny-Arcade have something in common: “The Christmas in September”.
