The Sopranos season 4, episode 10
Original air date: November 17, 2002

Furio's back from Italy, and Carmela can't stop herself from putting the moves on him. He, however, is making every effort to restrain himself. He stops by to pick up Tony, and refuses to come in when Carmela invites him. He hands her a bag of gifts, and she goes through it, hoping he's gotten her something. He hasn't, though - only a little book for "Maedo" and a keychain with a little wooden man on it for AJ.

Christopher's drug use continues to spiral out of control, and as he's shooting up in front of the TV, he sits on Adriana's dog and suffocates it. He's completely unaware, though, and when Adriana comes home and wants to take the dog for a walk, she's appalled to see it sticking out from behind Christopher's back, not moving. She breaks down in front of the FBI agent who's handling her, and the agent reveals that they've put Christopher on a mailing list for drug rehab centers. Adriana had been wondering where those pamphlets were coming from, and she resolves to confront Christopher about going into rehab.

Tony's crew is dealing with the fallout from Ralphie's "disappearance." Silvio, Albert, and Patsy discuss whether Tony could have been the one to kill Ralphie, and Silvio has to excuse himself from the table, because the thought is too much for him. They're all worried that if Tony could do this to one of his top earners - over a horse, no less - then any one of them could be next.

Christopher goes cruising for more heroin, and the guys he solicits it from jump him and beat him up. They take his car, his wallet, and his cell phone, and he has to rely on a junkie friend of his to clean him up and take him home. When he gets home, his friend tells Adriana that Christopher had promised him $30 for his help. Adriana refuses to pay him, and instead confronts Christopher about the treatment centers. He's furious and smacks her around before leaving again.

The portrait of Tony with Pie-Oh-My arrives at the Bing, and Tony, enraged, says he never wants to see it again. He orders Silvio to burn it, but when Silvio's guys are about to do so, Paulie shows up and takes it from them. He hangs it on his wall, but gets creeped out by Tony's eyes on him. He takes the portrait and has it altered so that Tony's likeness is somewhat diminished and rather than wearing a suit, he's wearing more of a Napoleonic regimental uniform.

Johnny Sack confronts Tony about the HUD fraud scam he pulled off with the Assemblyman and the head of the Urban Housing League. Johnny claims that because they "share" the Assemblyman, anything that involves him should be split between their families. Tony flat-out refuses, and Johnny threatens him. Tony then drops hints among his crew that Johnny Sack may be responsible for Ralphie's disappearance.

Meanwhile, Carmela can't stay away from Furio: she's cut her hair, and she once again drops by his house, with AJ, to show him some decorating ideas she'd seen in a magazine. He feels bad for not having brought her back a gift from Italy, so he gives her some balsamic vinegar. Upset, Carmela confides in Rosalie Aprile that it's getting harder and harder not to throw herself at Furio. Rosalie warns her not to get involved, both for Furio's sake and her own.

Tony's not even trying to restrain himself lately, what with Valentina and now Svetlana, the Ukrainian nurse who had helped his mother and is now looking after Uncle Junior. He tells Svetlana that he admires how she's always cheerful and is making something of herself, even though she lost a leg and could be wallowing in her sorrows. They sleep together, and Svetlana tells Tony she doesn't think it's a good idea for them to be together ever again. He's insulted - it may be the first time a woman's not wanted to continue seeing him - but she says it's too much work to prop him up, emotionally.

Tony, Adriana, Silvio, Paulie, et. al. stage an intervention at Christopher's to get him to check into a rehab center. Tony's furious that Christopher hit Adriana, and really hits the wall when he finds out about the dead dog. The intervention devolves into a fist-fight, though, when Paulie bluntly tells Christopher that he's a screw-up. When everyone's pulled apart, though, Christopher checks himself into a rehab center on Tony's orders, three weeks before his and Adriana's wedding.
