Sex and the City season 5, episode 8
Original air date: September 08, 2002

Carrie and company are at a piano bar where their friend () is an upscale lounge act. He's clearly gay, so they're all shocked when he announces that he's getting married to a middle-aged socialite. Nobody believes they'll go through with it, but Samantha decides to throw a party for them in the Hamptons at Richard's house. She calls Richard to inform him that she feels entitled to this for having put in the time and effort of a marriage without getting the "benefit" of a divorce settlement at the end.

At Richard's house, two very young ladies (college-ish and very busty) crash, saying that Richard always lets them drop by and use the house whenever they want. They ignore Samantha when she informs them that they're not welcome, and they show up to her elegant pool party in string bikinis, the tops of which they proceed to shed. Samantha's so furious that she confronts them in the kitchen and throws a cantaloupe at them, which misses and shatters the floor-to-ceiling plate glass window instead.

Carrie runs into Jack Berger at a roadside restaurant on the trip out to the Hamptons. He's on a motorcycle, which he's terrified of, and heading to his house in the Hamptons, as well, having just broken up with his girlfriend. She invites him to Samantha's party, but when he shows up, she scares him off by telling him her Aidan horror stories.

The next morning, Marcus and Stanford host the girls for breakfast, and Charlotte reveals that she's starting to have real feelings for Harry, because he's funny and he really cares about her and has begun to bring her out of her shell. In light of that, at the wedding reception, Carrie realizes that maybe the happy couple is actually happy and not just faking their nuptials. Along the same lines, Miranda realizes that she really misses Steve, and she and Brady call him from the reception. Charlotte's dancing with Harry when she admits to him that she's starting to fall for him. He explains to her that they can't really go anywhere, because he has to marry a Jew. She asks what they do now, and his response is simply, "Dance."

Finally, Jack Berger shows up again, and tells Carrie that he decided he really shouldn't break up with her before they've even been on a date, at which point they dance.

And Season 6 doesn't start again until June 2003! Damn you, fertile Brodericks.
