Friends season 9, episode
8 It's the Thanksgiving Friends episode! Rachel's sister (Christina Applegate) is visiting and having dinner with all of them. She can't keep Rachel's baby's name straight, but she's miffed when Rachel tells her that she's not going to be the baby's godmother. Rachel and Ross tell everyone that they wanted Monica and Chandler to be the godparents - well, unless something happens to Monica, in which case Ross' parents would take the baby. So then Chandler's upset that they don't think he's fit to be a godparent alone and spends the rest of the evening trying to prove that he'll be a good parent. He gets his chance when Rachel and her sister get into a catfight after dinner over Ralph Lauren discounts and baby guardianship. He separates them and makes them apologize to each other, impressing everyone. Monica's been persuaded to bring out the good china for dinner, although she's very reluctant to do so. She'd been saving it for when the Queen of England comes to visit. She makes everyone hold their food above the plate to cut it, so as not to scratch the plates. When Chandler accidentally breaks a plate, she's able to hold herself together, though, telling herself that it's just a plate. What do you think she does when Chandler accidentally knocks the entire box of china to the ground, then, while she's across the hall in Joey's apartment? |
