Alias season 2, episode
7 Sloane introduces everyone at SD-6 to Sark, saying that Sark has turned himself over to them to work with them against his old associates. Dixon and Sydney object to Sark's "immunity" (SD-6 doesn't really have authority to grant him immunity, not being a government agency) for his past crimes, saying that the hundreds he's killed shouldn't just be forgiven. Sloane overrides them, though, and sends Dixon and Sydney to Uzbekistan to meet with a black marketeer who has control codes for an Uzbek camp. They're to pose as Sark's associates and get the intelligence from a guy named Sokolov. They meet with Sokolov and buy the suitcase containing the codes from him. One problem, though: Sokolov tells them that the suitcase can't be opened without the fingerprint of the colonel he stole it from. Sokolov has a plan, though; he's assassinated the colonel, and they just need to get his fingerprint off the body in the Uzbek morgue. Dixon takes Sydney in in a body bag, while Sokolov steals a getaway truck. Sydney gets the fingerprint off the colonel, kicks down a few guards and rendezvous with Sokolov and Dixon. Sydney gives a copy of the codes to the CIA for analysis, too, because they can't believe that Sloane really just wants codes to an Uzbek base. Turns out they're right - the codes aren't security codes at all, but rather are control codes for six nuclear warheads that were stolen from the Uzbeks recently and are now under the control of the People's Liberation Front in Kashmir. Derevko had pleaded with Sydney to get her released for 48 hours when she heard that Sydney's mission was to steal these codes. Devlin had refused the request, but now that they realize what the codes really are, Devlin wants to use Derevko to sneak into the nuclear facility to deactivate the warheads. She refuses, but Sydney's able to persuade her to go on the mission. Jack refuses to let Sydney and Derevko go to Kashmir alone, though, so he joins the mission as well to supervise. He puts a jeweled collar on Derevko that's wired with C4, which will explode if it's taken off while still activated or remotely by Jack's watch. Meanwhile, someone's still messing with Sloane about Emily's death. He received a call stating that she was alive and demanding access to all SD-6 investment accounts. He denied the caller anything until he received proof that she was alive. Proof arrives in the form of Emily's finger in the mail with her wedding ring still attached. Will's research on the Project Christmas standardized tests has been turned over to Vaughn, but Devlin won't let Vaughn continue pursuing that line of research and tells Vaughn to terminate the arrangement with Will. Will's dismayed, though, because 5 million first-graders took the test back in 1982, and he can't believe the CIA isn't going to pursue it. Vaughn tells him that they've turned everything over to the FBI. Sydney, Jack, and Derevko arrive in New Delhi to take a train past the Kashmiri border, at which point they have to parachute off the train to meet their CIA contact at a rendezvous point. They meet him, but as they're heading into Kashmir by car, they're attacked by the People's Liberation Front. They're able to overcome their captors, though, when Jack deactivates Derevko's collar long enough for her to take it off. She then tosses it into the jeep they'd been in just as Jack remotely activates it via his watch. Big explosion, they pick up a bunch of their captors machine guns, and they're free. They're still far from Kashmir, though, and will have to walk their way in. TO BE CONTINUED |
