Captain Jim: "excerpts" images, 1995–1996

The CJ website went through numerous iterations. Starting in 1995 the site design allowed for a randomized preview of the current issue. I would cull about 10 interesting shots from the latest issue, shrink (or expand) them to 100x100, and add them to a (really primitive) randomizer CGI. Most of those previews are now "lost", inaccessible from the archived websites, since their parent issues are no longer "on display" as the most recent.

This page collects all the excerpts in one place for convenient perusal.

First, take a look at the 1995 sites to see how these previews looked in situ: earlier, later (at the top of the page, next to the logo). The mid-1995 issues page also featured the randomized preview. Finally, the final issues page (1996) uses the small square "alternate" per-issue icon.
